ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 HERBERT AVENUE THE POOLE (HERBERT AVENUE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2015 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Borough and County of the Town of Poole, the Highway Authority, is satisfied that traffic on the said Road should be prohibited and has made an Order in exercise of its powers under Section 5, 14(1), 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers as detailed above. The effect of this Order is that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed eastbound along Herbert Avenue from Stanfield Road (towards Alder Road). There will also be temporary closure of the junctions with Arne Avenue, Newlyn Way and Northmere Road. Suspension of the right-turn from Rossmore Road into Herbert Avenue will also be in place. The closures and suspensions are required from 6am on Tuesday 26 May to 6pm on Friday 29 May 2015 (effective 24 hours a day). Residents of the closed section of road will be informed by letter nearer the time of the proposed works.
Emergency Services will be given precise details of the closure dates in due course by the Contractor. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Emergency vehicles will be accommodated on a one-off basis.
The proposed closure is required for carriageway resurfacing.
The proposed Order is effective from 6am on Tuesday26 May to 6pm on Friday 29 May 2015. The Order is operative for the period mentioned above but will continue in force for the statutory period of eighteen months if required. If the works are not completed within the statutory period the Order may be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.
