ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE

MANOR AVENUE (BETWEEN THE JUNCTIONS OF HERBERT AVENUE AND ALDERNEY AVENUE)

THE POOLE (MANOR AVENUE)

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2015

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Borough and County of the Town of Poole, the Highway Authority, is satisfied that traffic on the said Road should be prohibited and intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order in exercise of its powers under Section 5, 14(1), 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers as detailed above, the effect of this Order is that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed along Manor Avenue from the junction of Herbert Avenue to its junction with Alderney Avenue. Frontagers and Emergency Services will be given precise details of the closure dates in due course by the Contractor.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Emergency vehicles will be accommodated on a one-off basis. Where practicable there will be access for residents only. Residents of the closed section of road will be informed by letter nearer the time of the proposed phased works.

The closure is required for micro asphalt resurfacing of the carriageway

The proposed Order is effective from 8.30am on Tuesday 6 October 2015 until 5.30pm on Thursday 8 October inclusive, effective 8.30am to 5.30pm daily. The Order is operative for the period mentioned above but will continue in force for the statutory period of eighteen months if required. If the works are not completed within the statutory period the Order may be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.

Any person who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the Order will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £400.
