WESTBOUND LANE CLOSURE

THROUGH TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIANS)
ORDER 2015
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Borough and County of the Town of Poole, the Highway Authority, is satisfied that traffic on the said Road should be prohibited and has made an Order in exercise of its powers under Section 5, 14(1), 15 and 16 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers as detailed above, the effect of which is that no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in a westbound direction on Old Ware ham Road affected by the works. The point of closure will be 65m west of the access to Wessex Trade Centre for a length of 170m up to the entrance to Jordans/Ryvita. The footway on the southern side will also be closed.
Access to Wessex Trade Centre and Chalwyn Industrial Estate will be unaffected. Frontagers and Emergency Services will be given precise details of the closure dates in due course by the Contractor. Emergency vehicles will be accommodated on a one-off basis.
A diversion will be signed for westbound traffic which will be diverted along Ringwood Road, Canford Way and Dorset Way.
The proposed road and footway closure is required for highway improvement.
The proposed Order is effective between Monday 23 November 2015 and Sunday 17 January 2016. The Order is operative for the period mentioned above but will continue in force for the statutory period of eighteen months if required.
If the works are not completed within the statutory period the Order may be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport Any person who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the Order will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £400.
