DETECTIVES are continuing to question rape suspect Dean Goodwin.
The 32-year-old was arrested by officers in Bournemouth Road in Poole at around 5.45pm on Tuesday following five days on the run.
He was immediately taken to a Bournemouth police station for questioning about the rape of a woman in her 20s in her Poole home in the early hours of Friday last week.
Goodwin, from Poole, is also being quizzed on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman, aged in her 40s, was attacked as she walked through a covered alleyway in the Heath Vale area of Andover on Monday afternoon.
The woman lost consciousness and suffered bruising and cuts to her face during the incident. She is currently receiving treatment.
Dozens of police officers, including 40 detectives, armed response officers and the force helicopter team, were involved in the manhunt for Goodwin. They had concentrated their search in the areas where he had lived or had family.
