HUNDREDS of mourners are expected at the funeral of 16-year-old Jade Clark tomorrow.
It is thought the funeral, at Bournemouth Crematorium, will attract several hundred people, all keen to pay their respects to the teenager who was killed as she rode her scooter along the A31.
If there are too many people to fit inside the crematorium, mourners will be able to stand outside and listen to the service on speakers.
A post on Facebook said Jade’s devastated family and friends were being encouraged to wear a combination of black and pink to the service.
Tributes have flooded in for Jade ever since news of her death was confirmed.
She was a member of the Young Firefighters’ Associat-ion at Ringwood, a former Ringwood School pupil, and has been described as a “loving girl and wonderful daughter”.
And several hundred people took part in a recent scooter ride and balloon release organised in Jade’s memory.
The teenager was struck by a light-coloured Volvo XC90 as she rode her scooter along the dual carriageway near Ashley Heath. Police are still hunting for the driver of the car, who failed to stop at the scene.
Detective Inspector Marcus Hester, of the major crime investigation team, issued a plea to the driver: “Please come forward and speak to us.
“We know that your collision with Jade did not kill her.
“At the end of the day a 16-year-old girl died over no fault of her own and it is very important for us to establish exactly what happened.”
He urged anyone to come forward if they knew of a Volvo XC90 driver travelling through Dorset that day.
Police are searching for an XC90 registered between 2003 and 2007, including vehicles with 52 to 57 plates and personalised registration plates.
They believe the vehicle suffered front-end damage.
Anyone with information can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
There is a £15,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of an offender.
