A SUPERMARKET has donated seeds and grow-your-own kits to Bournemouth War Memorial Homes.
Resident Barry Hurst met Chris Robinson, deputy manager of Sainsbury’s Talbot Heath, to receive the donation. Barry, a former servicemen, helps maintain the gardens enjoyed by more than 80 residents, all service veterans, aged 30 to 105.
Chris Robinson said: “Talbot Heath wanted to remember those who have fought and those who have fallen since the start of the First World War, 100 years ago.
“On hearing how fantastic this home is and the wide age range that are looked after here we looked at how we could help in a way to benefit all residents. We feel that this donation is a fantastic way to show our appreciation of the work that these ex-servicemen did and hope they can benefit and get pleasure from this donation.”
