The Reduced Shakespeare Company have announced an 81 city UK tour of their show The Complete History of Comedy (Abridged), one of the destinations including the Regent Centre in Christchurch on Wednesday 18th March.
The company was founded in 1981 and have created seven stage shows, two television specials and numerous radio pieces, playing to venues such as the White House, the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, London’s West End, Seattle Repertory Theatre, American Repertory Theatre and Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival.
Having also played the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the company have decided to tour in 2015 with a new show which covers comedy through the ages, from Aristophanes and Shakespeare and Moliere to Vaudeville and Charlie Chaplin.
The company was last seen on a four month tour of the UK and Ireland with The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged) at the start of 2014. Before that they had done an eight month tour of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) playing to packed houses throughout the UK and London’s West End throughout 2013.
