Bournemouth ended a 5 game winless streak with an emphatic win against Wolves.
After a string of bad results people began questioning whether Bournemouth were letting the pressure get to them. A win against an in form Wolves side showed that they have what it takes to secure promotion. The win guarantees that Bournemouth stay in the top 6 for another week.
The game started off slowly with Bournemouth controlling the opening stage.
After 10 minutes Wilson played a low driven cross into Kermorgant who hooked the ball past Kuszczak in the 6 yard box.
38 minutes in Bournemouth looked in control, barely allowing Wolves a sight at goal.
Wolves’ McDonald played a delightful ball through to Afobe who made no mistake in slotting in past Boruc to equal the scoring.
A shaky end to the second half for Bournemouth as Wolves had multiple opportunities to score. The sides went in level at the break.
The Cherries took no time to make an impact on the second half. Callum Wilson was brought down by Stearman in the box, resulting in penalty for the home side. Yann Kermorgant tucked it away coolly to give the home side the advantage again.
After Bournemouth took the lead it was a comfortable win for them. Despite piling on the pressure at times Wolves had no serious goal threats in the second half.
Man of the Match
Although it is Yann Kermorgant who will get the headlines, my man of the match is Callum Wilson. Wilson assisted the first and won the penalty for the winner. The pacy striker was a constant threat up top.
Summary
Bournemouth fought hard and pressed well throughout. A deserved win in the end for the home side who only allowed Wolves 2 shots on target.
