MOST of us could not even begin to imagine the pain that Sam Gillingham, pictured, has been through over the past 30 years.
As we report today, her father, Russell Causley, has finally admitted that he killed his wife, Sam’s mum Carole, in 1985.
It has given Sam and her son Neil, who has taken on the fight against a monstrous grandfather that he has never met with amazing determination, fresh hope that Causley will finally reveal what he did with his victim.
In recent weeks he has toyed with his daughter and grandson, intimating that he will finally tell all.
But that hasn’t happened and now the Echo is publishing the latest in a tragic tale as Sam and Neil look for the answers that would finally end three decades of turmoil.
The police can only do so much unless the man who holds the key to all of this finally speaks.
It is time for him to do one decent thing in his life and free his family from the grip in which he still holds them.
