SUBU have announced the first wave of acts to be gracing this year's Summer Ball, the biggest event of the BU calender!

First to be announced on the SUBU Summer Ball’s twitter are English Drum and Bass duo Sigma who are renowned for their ‘Nobody to love’ hit that became their first number one, as well as their follow up single ‘Changing’, featuring Paloma Faith.

Joining Sigma on the main stage are Sunset Sons who have been classified under the BBC’s ‘Sound of 2015′. Expect sun-soaked pop-rock anthems inspired by surfing culture- Bournemouth-born singer Rory is sure to represent BU in true Summer Ball style. Have a listen to their SoundCloud and start getting excited!

Other acts announced are Julio Bashmore, MC Stormzy, DJ The Artful Dodger and Zak Abel. Students are advised to keep their eyes peeled over the next few weeks as there are many more acts to be announced!

The reactions to this year’s Summer Ball line up has been more positive than last years, and tickets (as usual) are expected to sell out extremely quickly.

SUBU President Chloe Schendel-Wilson is looking forward to the Summer Ball blowout:

“I think the Summer Ball line up’s looking really, really good this year. It’s the first time in ages we’ve had several really well known acts, as opposed to just one or two. Also I think the music choice is quite broad so it should suit quite a lot of people! Generally I’m really looking forward to it and I’m probably looking forward to seeing Artful Dodger the most. Also it’s the biggest ball in the UK and I think it has become something that is part of the student experience here at Bournemouth!”
