An unexploded WW2 ordnace was detonated on Studland this afternoon.
National Trust staff found the device in the dunes just north of the visitor centre at Knoll beach just after 10am.
Police officers attended and requested the attendance of the bomb disposal team.
With assistance of Swanage Coastguard and Purbeck Rangers a cordon was put in place and the device was detonated at 2.40pm.
