Ahead of the General Election, we've asked the candidates for each constituency five identical questions.

They were all given the same amount of time to come back to us with their answers, and while most did respond, some didn't.

The final question - What are your top three policies other than Brexit? - was put forward by one of our lovely readers.

Where do you stand on Brexit – Leave or Remain? And why?

I am committed to leaving the EU with the Deal that the Prime Minister has negotiated. I am doing so because I am a democrat: the country voted to leave and politicians do not have the right to pick and choose which votes they respect.

Your policy on climate change?

'This is the most pressing public policy challenge; we must support initiatives and drive business to make our lives sustainable. I’ve made my political campaign plastic free this year so no plastic posters, cable ties etc.'

How will you be helping the NHS if you are elected?

The Conservatives have pledged record levels of funding to the NHS. My local priorities are rural GP recruitment and investment in our vital community hospitals of Shaftesbury and Blandford.

What is your policy on housing?

We need new housing in the right places and of the right design in order to keep our market towns and villages sustainable. We need all types of homes in North Dorset- social rent, shared equity and ownership particularly for young, first time buyers.

What are your top three policies other than Brexit?

Education and children’s services, elderly social care and the local economy.

Where do you stand on Brexit – Leave or Remain? And why?

Remain. Brexit isn't the answer to any of our problems and will only exacerbate them. True strength means working together.

Your policy on climate change?

We will reintroduce the Department for Climate Change and the National Green Investment bank, ban fracking, end the sales of diesel and petrol cars by 2030, insulate all homes by 2030, all to achieve net-zero by 2045.

How will you be helping the NHS if you are elected?

We will invest £35 billion in the NHS, part-funded by adding a penny on income tax. The NHS relies upon 20,000 EU nurses and 10,000 EU doctors. But 5,000 EU nurses have left the UK in the past two years alone. Stopping Brexit will help ensure reduced waiting times.

What is your policy on housing?

Home ownership levels are at record lows and the average price of a first-time deposit is £32,500. We need to build 300,000 homes a year, 100,000 of which should be for social housing.

What are your top three policies other than Brexit?

We need electoral reform so that everyone has an equal say in how the country is run. To deliver a national bus strategy to improve our public transport. Reform our education strategy to enable lifelong learning: we will give every person £10,000 to spend on their further education.
