THE theft of an electric bike in Poole has had a “real impact” on its owner as police urge residents to check their CCTV.

Sometime between 6.30pm on Wednesday, January 26, and 9.30am on Thursday, January 27, offenders gained access to a garage of an address in Uppleby Road, Parkstone, and stole a Cube electric pedal bike.

The bike is described as matte black with red splashes and has been modified to include a twist grip on the right handlebar, which is shorter than the left handlebar, and mudguards attached to the yoke at the front of the bike. There was no battery in the bike at the time it was stolen.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with CCTV footage to come forward following the theft.

Police Constable Joshua Pickering, of Dorset Police, said: “This bike was used every day by the victim and this theft has had a real impact on him. I am appealing to anyone who has seen the bike matching the description being offered for sale locally to please contact Dorset Police.

“Finally, I would ask local residents to please check their home CCTV systems for any suspicious activity.”
