A LIVE music event has been held in Bournemouth with all proceeds going to the Help from Bournemouth to Ukraine fundraising effort.
Organisers and volunteers from the Help from Bournemouth to Ukraine group gathered at the Old Fire Station in Bournemouth on Sunday night for a special ‘Rock for Ukraine’ event.
The music event was arranged by Mr Kyps Events and welcomed performances from Dorset ‘Piano Man’ Matt Black, as well as Amy Winehouse and Meatloaf tributes.
Organiser of the Help from Bournemouth to Ukraine operation, Karol Swiacki, also took to the stage for an impressive performance with his wife.
Karol said: “It was a lovely night. We had lots of fun.
“I sang with my wife. We sang about three songs and then we went to enjoy time with the volunteers.”
The event was one of many fundraising efforts made by the group, which was launched last month by Karol and his friend Daniel Sulimierski to appeal for donations for Ukraine.

Volunteers have been helping daily to sort through an overwhelming number of goods gifted in aid of Ukraine, and the 'Rock for Ukraine' event meant a well-deserved break for everybody.
Sunday’s event also welcomed TV star Martin Roberts who has been working closely with the Help from Bournemouth to Ukraine team to move the donations to Ukraine. A video posted on Facebook shows him on stage with Karol. He said: “What you’re doing is absolutely getting to the people who need it.
“This organisation is extraordinary.”
