A video showing storm sewage being pumped into the sea in Sussex has gone viral - but it's not just south east waters being polluted.

In fact, an interactive map created by environmental campaign group, Surfers Against Sewage (SAS), shows discharge points all along the south coast.

Heavy rain over the last few days has been linked to sewage also being emptied at beaches in Dorset, Cornwall, Devon, Hampshire, Somerset and the Isle of Wight.

This is the video posted on social media by Martyn Craddock showing the release into the otherwise blue waters at Seaford.

A spokesperson for SAS said other pollution warnings in place may not be linked to heavy rain, and those visiting the coast are advised to check its interactive map on their website before they swim.

There are currently four Dorset locations showing as potentially polluted.

Seatown Stream and Eypemouth both have a "Pollution Risk Warning" stating "Storm sewage has been discharged from a sewer overflow in this location within the past 48 hours".

Bournemouth Boscombe Pier and Lulworth Cove also have Pollution Risk Warnings but aren't specific about the cause, stating "Bathing not advised today due to the likelihood of reduced water quality".
