A woman has been rushed to hospital by air ambulance following an incident in the Studland area.
Helicopters from both HM Coastguard and Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance were spotted at Knoll Beach earlier today following a medical incident.
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 10.17hrs to an incident in the Studland area. Resources we sent included a double-crewed land ambulance and an air ambulance, and the Coastguard also attended.
“We are conveying one patient to Southampton General Hospital by air ambulance.”
A Coastguard spokesperson said: “HM Coastguard received reports at around 9.30am today (August 26) of a woman injured at Studland Beach. Coastguard rescue teams were sent to support the casualty, alongside rangers and an off-duty nurse, while waiting for an ambulance and paramedics.
“She was taken from the scene by one of two coastguard helicopters. She is now in the care of South Western Ambulance service.“
