THE John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation donated £6,000 toward the creation of new facilities at Ferndown Upper School.
Ferndown Upper School has a new Pastoral and SEND area (student Hub) thanks to the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation and founders Linda and Pete Thornton for awarding £6,000 towards these new facilities.
The FUS Student Hub has provided a professional working environment for all the staff who support wellbeing, mental health, educational needs, attendance, and behaviour support.
Locating all of the support together has helped the students from Year 9 to Year 14 get any support that they need to improve their outcomes at school.
They have three dedicated rooms created for student support as well as all the facilities provided by the Learning Centre support next door for primarily SEND students, but where all students can get support if needed.
The Learning Centre section of the Hub has provided a friendly, safe and supportive environment for students to work, get support from qualified staff and improve their learning in all aspects of life.
