MULITPLE schools across the conurbation will be closed on Wednesday, February 1, due to national strike action.
Members of the National Education Union (NEU) are due to walk out over a dispute with the government.
The Department for Education has offered a five per cent pay rise to most teachers for the current school year, but the NEU is demanding a fully funded above-inflation pay rise for teachers.
Teacher members of the NEU in sixth form colleges in England, who have already been balloted and taken strike action in recent months, will join the walkouts in a separate but linked dispute.
The strike action is going to impact schools in the BCP Council area.
Most schools reportedly have letters to parents published on their websites, while the local authority has said some schools may find fewer staff on site when schools open on Wednesday, due to illness or late notification of strike action.
The council has issued the following details on which schools will be closed, open and partially open on Wednesday, February 1. This information was accurate as of 6pm on Tuesday, January 31.
