A SHOW described as the “musical theatre blockbuster of the present day” is coming to Poole.
The Lighthouse in Poole has announced a 12-night run of the musical SIX starting on Tuesday, October 31.
SIX is modern retelling of the lives of the six wives of Henry VIII in the form of a pop concert.
Each wife takes a turn to tell their tale to see who suffered the most at the hands of their husband, remixing 500 years of historical heartbreak into an 80-minute celebration of 21st century girl power.
Throughout, the wives are backed by their all-female showband - The Ladies In Waiting.
Tim Colegate, head of programming at Lighthouse, said: “SIX is undoubtedly the musical theatre blockbuster of the present day and I’m so proud that we can bring the show to Poole for two weeks."
Written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, SIX debuted at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2017 and has enjoyed a rise to international success.
Tim added: "The production has been entertaining thousands of people at theatres up and down the country and beyond in recent years and now it’s time for audiences at Lighthouse to really lose their heads.”
Tickets go on pre-sale to Lighthouse Friends only from Wednesday, March 15, and on general sale from 10am on Friday, March 24.
