LIVE music, fairground rides, and plenty of food will be on offer at a community event to celebrate the King’s coronation.
The Fordingbridge Coronation Picnic in the Park event will take place on the town’s recreation ground on May 7 from 2.30pm to 10pm and is free to attend.
The family event has been organised by members of the Fordingbridge Events Group and the town council with the aim of creating an event for the whole community.
Free parking for the Sunday in the town car parks has been confirmed by the New Forest District Council and there will be free car parking at the event itself managed by Fordingbridge Rotary Club.
Various entertainment on offer includes fairground rides, slides and bouncy castles as well as live music performed all day by a variety of bands.
At 6pm, the town’s beacon, which was installed last summer at the Jubilee picnic, will also be lit. Following this, local band Stoney Cross will perform as a headline act.
The event also marks the 100th anniversary of the recreation ground.
