CHRISTCHURCH Priory is set to be lit up in a ‘stunning display of light and colour’ to celebrate the King’s coronation.
In honour of the coronation, the Priory will be lit using the latest technology to create visual effects and illuminate the building.
The light display promises to ‘enchant and amaze’, with this being the first time the Priory has been used as a backdrop for visual art.
The event will begin at 9pm on the coronation day, Saturday, May 6, and has been organised by Light Art Creatives and Event Temps.
Julian Dorrell, from Light Art Creatives, said: “We love delighting audiences with our illuminating light shows.
“This is the first British coronation in 70 years, and we wanted to mark this special occasion by using cutting-edge technology to deliver a free event for the local community, created by local businesses.”
Christina Pengelly, from Christchurch BID, said: “We want to encourage people to visit our town and enjoy this free event, which will show the Priory in a completely new light.
“Not only do we want to Light Up the Nation, we want to Light Up Christchurch.”
