A DORSET builder has been named for failing to pay a tax bill of more than £30,000.
Stefan Scott Johnstone is among hundreds of traders recently named by HMRC for making deliberate errors in their tax returns or deliberately failing to comply with their tax obligations.
The trader, whose company address was given as Warber Close, Poole, was handed £19,636.23 in penalties based on a £30,326.23 tax bill.
This charge was for the default period between April 6, 2019, and April 5, 2021.
HMRC may publish information about a deliberate tax defaulter where it has carried out an investigation, the person has been charged and if those penalties involve tax of more than £25,000.
The list is updated every three months before the information is removed after a year. Information is not published if a person reduces the penalties by fully disclosing details of the defaults they have been involved in.
Mr Johnstone, 28, ran Inside Out Home Improvements Dorset Ltd until it was dissolved in February this year.
