Here is a selection of animals from the Ashley Heath Animal Centre in Dorset who are looking for their forever home.
Located on the border with Hampshire, the centre offers care for its animals in rural surroundings.
A few animals from the centre are listed below but more can be found on the centre's website.
If you wanted to donate to the Ashley Heath Animal Centre to support their work you can do so at their website.
Megan
Gender - Female
Age - 12 years old
Breed - Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
Colour - Brown and White
If you want to adopt Megan you can view their full profile here.
Megan, an abandoned senior dog who gets along well with other animals, is in need of a quiet, adult-only home where she can receive lots of love and attention.
Despite her age, Megan is still lively and affectionate, enjoying walks, cuddles, and rest.
She does have ongoing health issues, including kidney function concerns and a heart murmur, which require a special diet and regular vet visits.
Megan has also had a dental procedure and a non-concerning mass removed from her armpit.
Although she is not likely to be insurable, older dogs like Megan deserve a warm and loving home just as much as any other dog, Ashley Heath says.
Leo
Gender - Male
Age - 11 years old
Breed - Chihuahua crossbreed
Colour - Beige
If you want to adopt Leo you can view their full profile here.
Leo is described as a sensitive soul who has potentially had two previous homes prior to arriving in the care of the RSPCA.
He walks nicely on the lead, is reported to travel well and he is housetrained but may have accidents if worried.
Leo has lived with a female dog before and would do well with another neutered female of similar size as he can be uncomfortable around larger breeds.
He needs a home where he will have company during the day as he has not been left alone for long periods.
Additionally, Leo also needs an adult-only home as he has not had experience with children.
Honey and Peanut
Gender - Not stated on the profile
Age - Nine years old (approx.)
Breed - Shih Tzu crossbreed
Colour - Black/Brindle
If you want to adopt Honey and Peanut you can view their full profile here.
Honey and Peanut are two dogs looking for a new home together after their owner became ill and was no longer able to look after them.
They require an adult-only home with at least two experienced adults who can provide them with the time and space to adjust to new routines.
The dogs are not used to being left alone and would require companionship throughout the day, with the possibility of gradually building up to being left for short periods.
Honey and Peanut have shown sociable behaviour with other dogs at the centre, but would need time to get to know them.
Princess
Gender - Female
Age - 15 years old
Breed - Domestic Longhair crossbreed
Colour - Black, white and brown
If you want to adopt Princess you can view their full profile here.
Princess is a cat who arrived at Ashley Heath as a stray and is now in search of a new home.
Despite being a senior lady, Princess enjoys the attention from the staff and volunteers in the cattery but also appreciates her alone time.
Due to her long coat, regular grooming is necessary for Princess, although she will let you know when she has had enough.
She is hoping to find a pet-free home where she can relax and bask in the love of her new family.
While in their care, Princess received dental work, and all veterinary history will be provided to potential adopters upon request.
She can be rehomed with children aged 10 and above but not within a 5-mile radius of Dorchester (DT2).
