POLICE have arrested a suspect believed to have been involved in a high-value theft from a farm.
It was reported that in the early hours of Saturday, at around midnight, a farm was burgled in the area of Shapwick and a green Honda quad bike, tools and bikes were stolen.
A spokesman for the Rural Crime Team said: "Following enquiries by the Rural Crime Team, a suspect has been arrested in the Blandford area and a vehicle reportedly used in the commission of the crime has been located and seized.
"It was reported that the vehicle has been driven off road in the commission of the theft.
"It is suspected that the vehicle may be on a cloned number plate and have fake registered keeper’s details.
"Our thanks to North Dorset patrol officers for assisting us with the arrest.
"There is still property outstanding and in due course we will look to issue a news release asking for the public's assistance around this.
