DORSET star Scott Mitchell will get the action underway at next month’s World Seniors Matchplay in York.
Taking place at the iconic Barbican, 2015 BDO world champion Mitchell is seeded number six for the event.
He has been drawn to take on ‘Crocodile Dundee’ Paul Hogan in round one.
The Dudley-born thrower, 59, will face Mitchell in the first game of the tournament, at 1pm on Saturday, September 2.
Hogan came through the final qualifying event over the weekend to book his spot in the tournament, defeating Mike Huntley in the final.
He reached the last 16 of the PDC UK Open in both 2017 and 2018, and is a three-time BDO World Championship quarter-finalist.
Hogan faced Mitchell at the Lakeside in 2014, Scotty Dog emerging a 3-2 victor.
Should Mitchell, 53, come through his first match, he would be seeded to meet 16-time world champion Phil Taylor in the quarter-finals.
That is if the Power can overcome Canadian legend John Part in his opening encounter.
The event is set to be shown live on TNT Sports.
Seniors Matchplay draw: Robert Thornton v Neil Duff, Richie Howson v Trina Gulliver, Martin Adams v Kevin Painter, Glen Durrant v Jim McEwan, Leonard Gates v Colin McGarry, John Henderson v David Cameron, Scott Mitchell v Paul Hogan, Phil Taylor v John Part.
