‘THE force is strong’ at a Dorset museum as it unveils one of the UK’s finest collections of vintage Star Wars toys and original cinema posters.
The Museum of East Dorset is opening the May The Toys Be With You exhibition on Saturday, October 14.
Featuring highly collectable toys from the iconic films, the exhibition is both a celebration of the vintage toy line and also of the design work and art of the Star Wars movies.
From X-Wing fighters to lightsabers, these designs have become iconic, firing imaginations and stamping their place on the cultural landscape.
From 1977 to 1985, an estimated 300 million action figures were sold, which allowed children to re-enact the adventures of the Star Wars original trilogy.
The exhibition, for young and old alike, is an ‘unmissable’ opportunity to view a number of rarely seen Star Wars treasures.
It has broken visitor attendance records at a host of other museums across the country, and the museum said it was excited to bring it to Wimborne.
The exhibition will run between October 14 and April 20 at the museum in High Street, Wimborne. For more information, visit the museum’s website and social media channels.
