TWO Dorset hotels have been listed in The Times’ top 20 beach and coastal hotels in the UK.
The Times named its ‘Best coastal and beach hotels in the UK’ this month, as more Brits opt for staycations.
Pig on the Beach in Studland was rated as the second-best seaside stay in the country and is described as a ‘sophisticated Victorian Manor’ with ‘garden-to-plate food’ in the restaurant.
The Pig franchise currently has eight locations across the country, but the original was set up in the New Forest.
Like all ‘The Pig’ sites across the UK, Pig on the Beach celebrates local suppliers and grows its own food for restaurant customers.
Mushrooms are even grown from their used coffee grounds.
Pig on the Beach has also claimed top spot on The Times ‘Best Hotels in Dorset’.

Also on the list, The Nici in Bournemouth was acclaimed by The Times as a ‘British Miami.’
The five-star hotel was described to have ‘sizzling South Beach vibes’ with ‘palm-print banquettes and cocktails served in brass pineapples.’
Fitting typical British weather, the hotel offers an indoor pool alongside its 100ft outdoor pool.
Its multi-million-pound refurbishment also boasts a luxury spa, cabana area and fire pits.
