THE body of a man has been found on a Dorset beach.
Members of the public raised a concern for welfare to the police for a man in Kimmeridge Bay, in Purbeck, on Sunday afternoon (October 29).
A man in his 60s was later found on the beach by police and HM Coastguard who also attended.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His death is not being treated as suspicious and his family, as well as the coroner, has been notified.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: “Dorset Police received a report at 12.49pm on Sunday 29 October 2023 raising concern for the welfare of a man in Kimmeridge Bay.
“Officers attended to assist HM Coastguard.
“Very sadly, the body of a man was located on the beach at around 1.30pm.
“His death is not being treated as suspicious and the coroner was notified. The man’s family was informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.”
