A FESTIVE street in Poole will once again be switching on its dazzling Christmas lights next month.
The residents of Runton Road in Branksome will be turning on their illuminations on Saturday, December 9.
Every year, many of the residents in the cul-de-sac light up their homes to raise money for charity.
The spectacle has been running for more than 30 years with the lights mostly lit between 4pm and 10pm each evening.
The event draws visitors from far and wide and was even featured on popular BBC programme The One Show in 2012.
Around five million viewers tuned in to see the Christmas lights switched on in a live broadcast with former Olympian Iwan Thomas turning out for the countdown.
Over the years, the event has raised tens of thousands of pounds for charity.
Last year saw residents switch to LED lights instead amid rising energy bills, however, residents were keen the traditional event continue to spread joy and raise money for charity.
Visitors are welcome to enjoy the lights, however, they are urged to park away from the road and walk to Runton Road but be mindful of not blocking other people’s driveways or parking on corners.
Anyone with a disability is welcome to park in the road.
