A COUNTRY park has opened its Christmas tree shop as the countdown gets underway to the big day.
Moors Valley Country Park and Forest is now selling British grown fir and spruce trees in all shapes and sizes.
Forestry England’s experts are on hand to help visitors pick out their perfect tree.
They are also offering tips on how to look after Christmas trees throughout the holiday period.
The shop is open from 10am and 4pm until the trees are all sold out.
At weekends, people can also shop from a collection of local stall holders selling handmade Christmas goods and treats.
This will be soundtracked by music performed by local Christmas choirs.
Other attractions taking place at Moors Valley to get people in the festive spirit include a pantomime with a special interactive performance of Robin Hood on December 18 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
The performance is courtesy of Forest Forge Theatre, Mischievous Theatre, and Bumblefly Theatre.
A Christmas quiz trail is running until January 1 between 9am and 4.30pm.
Moors Valley is open every day over the festive period apart from Christmas Day.
Melanie Keddie, marketing manager for Forestry England at Moors Valley, said: “There’s so much on offer this Christmas at Moors Valley Country Park and Forest.
"It’s a really special place to come with the family to pick the perfect Christmas tree and enjoy spending time in our very own forest winter wonderland.”
