SEVENTY Christmas trees, 10,000 LED lights wrapped around them, 600 lightbulbs, and seven large LED screens.
This is what has gone into making Castlepoint shopping centre festive this Christmas – spreading over an area bigger than a tennis court.
Called FestivePoint winter wonderland, Castlepoint has also introduced a magical VR experience which allows shoppers to take an enchanting ride to the North Pole on the ‘magical lift to Santa’.
Over the course of 25 days, a dedicated team of seven crew members tirelessly worked to bring the festive atmosphere to life.
Castlepoint centre manager David Pickett said: “We’re all really excited to see this VR experience finally come to life.
“We love the fact we’re bringing something unique to Castlepoint that the whole community can enjoy.
“Christmas is such a special time of the year for many of our visitors and we are thrilled to be adding our own bit of Christmas magic to the festivities this year.”
There are also treats, drinks and live performances from schools as well as festive music and screenings of beloved Christmas movies, including classics such as Elf, Home Alone, and The Grinch.
David added: “Our aim was not only to create a magical Christmas experience, but also give back to the wonderful community that we’re so proud to be a part of.
“As we worked our magic to transform Castlepoint into a winter wonderland, our vision for a social hub has really started to come to life and we’re inviting everyone enjoy the come down and enjoy the spirit of Christmas at Castlepoint.”
The experience is open until Saturday, December 23, on selected dates, between 11am and 7pm on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and 10.30am to 4.30pm on Sundays.
Tickets can be booked online.
