FIRE crews were called to cut a person from their car after two vehicles collided along a main Dorset road.
The crash forced the road to be closed for nearly three hours during rush hour causing significant delays to people travelling along the A354.
It took place between Thornicombe and Blandford at around 4.30pm on Wednesday, December 6.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews from Blandford and Poole were called to the A354 (Thornicombe to Blandford) at 4.35pm yesterday afternoon.
"On arrival, firefighters found a road traffic collision involving two vehicles – one casualty was rescued from a vehicle after removing the door and left in the care of paramedics."
Dorset Police were also in attendance at the crash who reported that there were no serious injuries and that the road reopened just after 7pm.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We were called at 4.14pm on Wednesday 6 December 2023 to a report of a two vehicle collision on the A354 at Thornicombe.
"Officers attended with the fire service. The road was closed while emergency services attended. No serious injuries reported. Road reopened at around 7.05pm."
South Western Ambulance service have been contacted to provide further information on the injuries sustained in the collision.
