POLICE are continuing to investigate a five-vehicle pile up that left three people hospitalised.
An air ambulance was launched on New Year’s Eve after the crash involving five vehicles on Charminster Road.
Firefighters from Springbourne and Redhill were scrambled to help free a trapped woman.
Three people were rushed to hospital with injuries that were not believed to have been serious.
No one has been arrested in connection with the crash at 4.41pm on Sunday and enquiries are ongoing, say Dorset Police.
Four ambulances, two operations officers and an air ambulance were sent as part of the emergency response.
A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service has since confirmed that three people were driven to Poole Hospital.
Several others suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
