A NIGHTCLUB in Bournemouth Triangle has plans to extend its opening hours – again.
The owners of The Vibe have submitted a premises licence application requesting to keep the club open until 5am daily.
At present, the club allows revellers in between 6pm and 3am daily, and is licenced to sell alcohol and play music during these hours.
It is not the first time The Vibe owners, trading as Ratio Bar Limited, have sought a later closing time.
Before the club officially opened in July 2023, the owners submitted a licensing application requesting to keep the venue open until 5am daily.
Dorset Police formally objected to the application and voiced concerns at a BCP Council licensing sub-committee meeting in February that year.
Speaking at the time, sergeant Gareth Gosling, of the force’s drug and alcohol reduction team, told committee members: “I do believe the times being offered at 5am are too late at this premises.
"It will be used most likely by those leaving premises that close at a more reasonable hour.
“It’ll likely lead to crime and disorder.”
Members agreed, leading the applicant to adapt the trading hours to between 9pm and 3am.

A few months later, and after the club had opened to the public, the owners submitted another premises licence application for increased hours.
It was successful, and they were allowed to open between 6pm and 3am daily.
Now, The Vibe is hoping for another extension of hours from 6pm to 5am.
Their latest premises licence application also requests an increase on those allowed in the club’s designated smoking area, from six to 10 people.
A decision is yet to be made on the application by BCP Council.
It will remain open for public consultation until Friday, February 9, and representations should be made to the BCP Council licensing team.
