Several pets in Dorset are looking for their forever homes, including at the Ashley Heath Animal Centre.

Located on the border with Hampshire, the centre offers care for its animals in rural surroundings.

A few animals from the centre are listed below but more can be found on the centre's website.

Flare

Bournemouth Echo: FlareFlare (Image: RSPCA)

Gender - Male

Age - One year old

Breed - Lurcher crossbreed

Colour - Brindle

If you want to adopt Flare you can view their full profile here.

Flare is described as an "energetic lad" who is very eager to meet dogs and people alike.

Sadly Flare had been neglected before coming into the care of the RSPCA which meant he had poor socialisation.

It would be best for him to go to a home without other animals as he can be a bit boisterous with other dogs and would likely chase after a cat.

Flare may be able to be left for short periods once settled in and would benefit from continued dog socialisation and training classes.

He will need access to a secure garden and plenty of mentally stimulating activities such as enrichment feeders and training activities.

George

Gender - Male

Age - Five years old

Breed - Domestic Shorthair crossbreed

Colour - Tabby/White

If you want to adopt George you can view their full profile here.

George came to Ashley Heath after being removed from a large multi-cat household and he is now ready to find a new home.

He will need understanding owners to help him settle in as he is quite nervous around people.

It would be best for him to have his own room before being introduced to the rest of the house.

George will also need to be the only pet in the home and not live with any children.

Dora

Bournemouth Echo: DoraDora (Image: RSPCA)

Gender - Female

Age - Two years old

Breed - Domestic Shorthair crossbreed

Colour - Tortoiseshell

If you want to adopt Dora you can view their full profile here.

Dora arrived at the centre from a large multi-household of other cats, and she has had very little human contact in her life.

She will need time to settle into a new environment and staff are currently working with her to make cattery life more comfortable.

Dora will be best suited to a quiet home with adopters who have had experience with nervous cats before.

Additionally, she is not to be rehomed within five miles of Weymouth.

Dexter

Bournemouth Echo: DexterDexter (Image: RSPCA)

Gender - Male

Age - Five years old

Breed - Domestic Semi crossbreed

Colour - Black and White

If you want to adopt Dexter you can view their full profile here.

Dexter arrived in the care of the RSPCA after being picked up as a stray and is now looking for a new home.

He eventually got used to the cattery environment but can still be a bit wary.

Ashley Heath adds: "When spending time with Dexter, he can get over the top and has nipped. At times, this can be very hard. He will be looking for owners that are confident with bold characters, not suitable for first-time cat owners."

Dexter would suit a pet-free home, where he can have all the space to settle.

Angel and Yoda

Bournemouth Echo: Angel and YodaAngel and Yoda (Image: RSPCA)

Gender - Not stated on the profile

Age - Five years old (approx.)

Breed - Chihuahua crossbreed

Colour - White (Angel) and Brown (Yoda)

If you want to adopt Angel and Yoda you can view their full profile here.

Angel and Yoda came into the care of the RSPCA after being removed from unsuitable living conditions.

They are now looking to find a home together and will require owners experienced with Chihuahua breeds and their behaviours.

Someone will need to stay at home with them initially as they are likely to need some housetraining due to previously living in dirty conditions.

Both lack social skills with other dogs so can easily be scared or worried by them.
