Paultons Park has unveiled plans to launch a new flume ride in time for the summer season.
Opening in May, Splash Lagoon is a water boat ride that will take young explorers on a Jurassic Park-style adventure in Lost Kingdom, which recreates the age of the dinosaurs.
The flume will boast rapids and an exciting drop into a prehistoric lagoon below.
A Paultons spokesperson said the award-winning attraction just off the M27 at Ower was renowned for its attention to detail.
They added: "Lost Kingdom catapults families back to a long-forgotten era, using sound, planting, live shows, and colour to create a captivating prehistoric landscape.
"To complement the arrival of Splash Lagoon, a new family of moving, life-like dinosaurs will greet guests and further elevate the Jurassic experience for families."
James Mancey, deputy managing director at Paultons Park, added: "Splash Lagoon is a fantastic addition to the Lost Kingdom experience. The detailing and theming around the new flume is in keeping with the Jurassic-theme and delivers a truly immersive adventure.
“Splash Lagoon is great fun for junior riders and balances the thrill and excitement that rides such as our suspended dinosaur coaster, Flight of the Pterosaur, offers for older children and adults."
Paultons Park boasts more than 70 rides and attractions across five themed areas.
In 2023 the attraction topped the charts once again as the best-ranked theme park in England, according to users of Tripadvisor.
Mr Mancey added: “Since the earliest days of Paultons Park, we have worked hard to ensure we offer a value-for-money day out for families of all ages.
"Guest experience is at the top of our priority list and so we’re committed to investing in experiences for everyone."
Splash Lagoon is not the only new addition to Paultons Park this year.
A family of ring-tailed lemurs will soon swing into a brand-new enclosure, offering guests the opportunity to watch the sociable and expressive little Madagascan primates play and explore.
From Easter, families will also be able to enjoy a new steam-punk style cafe and restaurant.
Grande Central will be situated between Tornado Springs and Peppa Pig World. Complete with lounge chairs, booths and tables, it will offer freshly brewed coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, plus hot eats, delicious cakes, and sweet treats.
Paultons Park reopens on Saturday, February 10.
