A WOMAN allegedly stole pairs of shoes from a high street store before making a getaway in a car with invalid insurance.
Multiple police cars and officers were seen surrounding a blue Volkswagen Scirocco on Richmond Hill in Bournemouth.
The items were allegedly stolen from TK Maxx in Old Christchurch Road on Tuesday, March 5.
Officers were able to intercept the vehicle and seize it due to having invalid insurance.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We received a report at 1.24pm of a vehicle making off following a shoplifting in Bournemouth town centre.
“Officers attended and the vehicle was stopped.
“The vehicle stopped at Richmond Hill was in relation to an alleged theft at TK Maxx.
“It was reported that the vehicle did not have valid insurance and was seized.
"PCSO Harold assisted Officers from traffic and response units with shoplifters who tried their luck in the town centre, but our vigilant CCTV operator caught them in the act.
"Thanks to quick action, nine pairs of shoes were recovered, offenders reported, and the getaway driver nabbed for no insurance."
