AN ALGERIAN warship has been spotted in Poole Harbour.
Algerian Warship KBH, Kalaat Beni Hammed, pennant number 472, has been spotted in Poole Harbour collecting British military equipment.
It arrived in the area on March 18 and has reportedly taken a Lynx MK8A helicopter from Yeovil.
The ship is yet to leave harbour, the Echo understands.
As reported by Ships Monthly, the vessel has visited Poole before and its flight deck lighting was installed by Poole-based Trident Marine Systems.
The warship was reportedly built in Britain and launched in 1981 before entering service three years later.
It is a equipped with a 75 metre long vehicle storage ad well as a helicopter deck.
The Echo has contacted Poole Harbour Commission and the Royal Navy for comment.
