THREE more fan favourites have been announced for this year’s Bournemouth Air Festival.
The Royal Air Force’s Eurofighter Typhoon, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, featuring the iconic Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane, and the RAF Tutor are all coming back.
This year’s event will be taking place over three days from Thursday, August 29 to Saturday, August 31.
A BCP Council spokesman teased further announcements could be confirmed soon regarding the line-up.
Meanwhile the usual host of fun and entertainment will also be available across the beaches, including fairground rides, pier to pier trading, fireworks, vintage displays, demonstrations from the Army and Navy, exciting night air displays and more.
BCP Council also confirmed further “enhancements” have also been made to the highly successful science, technology, engineering and maths village.
The authority said it will feature even more unique demonstrations and displays from industry-leading companies, helping to engross and inspire budding engineers.
Displays which will not be returning this year include the Red Arrows (due to pre-planned overseas commitments), The Tigers Army Parachute Display Team (because of a “reform of the army parachute display teams” for this year) and Team Yakovlevs (after it ceased operations).
The spokesman added: “This year’s event will be the sixteenth air festival since its launch in 2008 and we look forward to sharing further event details and flying announcements in due course as we edge toward the UK’s most iconic air festival.”
