Thousands of petrol heads to flock to castle motor show

The annual Dorset Blind Association Motor Show at Lulworth Castle will be returning this year on Sunday, May 12, from 10.30am. 

Featuring live music from The Land Girls, The Bournemouth Carnival Band and The Rock Choir, organisers are promising a lively atmosphere. 

They are promising something for everybody: children, foodies and car enthusiasts – all in aid of the Dorset Blind Association. 

Attendees will also have the chance to win incredible prizes in the raffle, donated by Dorset businesses. Prizes include lunch at Rick Stein restaurant, a barbecue, salon treatments and more. 

Neal Burton, a car exhibitor, said the event is a “really great day run by a super team”, adding: “The show is laid back with a diverse entry of vehicles, so there’s plenty to see.  

“Set in a fabulous location, what more could you ask for from a car show that supports such a worthy cause. I’ve booked in my 1964 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia again for this year. See you there.” 

James Weld, owner of the Lulworth Estate and president of Dorset Blind Association, has donated the use of his grounds for the motor show – the only one held at a castle. 

This year, Dorset Blind Association has set a fundraising goal of more than £20,000, with the event aiming to raise awareness and vital funds.

Admission is free and donations to the charity are “greatly appreciated”.
