A BOURNEMOUTH bowls club is hosting an open day to show that ‘bowls is a fun sport for all ages’.
Founded in 1911, Knyveton Gardens Bowls Club (BC) is a long standing club affiliated to Bowls Hampshire and Bowls England.
But with memberships at BCP’s bowls clubs reportedly dwindling, Knyveton Gardens BC is keen to remind residents of the fun that can be had with lawn bowling.
A free open day is being held at the club this month to give prospective members the opportunity to try the sport.
Qualified coaches and experienced bowlers will be in attendance to assist people with the art of lawn green bowling, and guide complete newbies through the basics.
There will also be hot and cold food on offer all day, with a bar open from midday.
Knyveton Gardens BC will supply all the equipment – attendees just need flat shows.
The open day is taking place on Knyveton Gardens BC green on Sunday, April 21, and will begin at 10am.
