TWO fun runs organised by a Rotary Club raised £2,000 for a children’s hospice.
Wimborne Rotary organised the two runs for Julia’s House, with the Caribbean summer fun run taking place on the hottest day of the year, while the Santa Stour fun run took place in December.
Hundreds of runners donned their running shoes for the runs for the good cause.
Katie Thompson, a fundraiser for Julia’s House, attended a regular lunchtime meeting of Wimborne Rotary and spoke about the work of the hospice.
She explained how children can access the facilities and how their fundraising is always active and needed.
Then, Rotary president, Graham West, presented Katie with a cheque for £2,000.
He said: “We are pleased to have raised this amount for Julia’s House and I would thank all the runners for turning up to enable us to raise this impressive sum.
“I would also thank all the volunteers, including those from Julia’s House, Wimborne Football Club and sponsors for making the events possible.”
