MEET the racing driver turned businessman aiming to ‘redefine the landscape of property development’.
Hector Hurst competed alongside some of the best names in the racing world before launching his property development company Hurst & Hurst Estates Ltd in Lymington.
Now, demand for Hector’s work is soaring, and there are numerous new ventures on the horizon for the Hurst & Hurst Estates team.
Speaking on his transition from the racetrack to business, Hector said: “After being extremely lucky to enjoy a career as a racing driver, including competing on the world stage in Formula 2 and 3 alongside talents like Max Verstappen, I made the decision to retire in 2014.
“Despite the excitement and prestige of the racing world, I felt a deep longing for a new challenge—one that would allow me to make a meaningful impact beyond the confines of the racetrack.
“My journey through motorsport provided an invaluable education in business, instilling in me a diverse set of transferable skills from a young age.”
Under the guidance of seasoned mentors like F1 driver Mark Blundell and businessman Theo Paphitis, Hector ventured into the world of property development, founding Hurst & Hurst Estates Ltd in October 2014.
He said his mission has been clear from day one – ‘to redefine the concept of luxury living’.
The company’s first project involved the meticulous refurbishment of a bungalow in Lymington, before expanding into new builds and multi-home developments across the south of the UK.
A decade on, Hector said it is the company’s “uncompromising quality” which has “propelled it to the forefront of the industry”.
With demand soaring, Hurst & Hurst Estates Ltd now constructs more than 100 new homes annually throughout the south of England.
Each home epitomises luxury and innovation, and comprises designer features such as underfloor heating, bi-folding doors and EV charging facilities.
Hector said: “At the heart of our success lies a team culture reminiscent of a championship-winning sports squad.
“Every member plays on an equal footing, fostering an environment where the best ideas triumph over hierarchy.”
Looking forward, Hurst & Hurst Estates Ltd anticipates the summer completion of two flagship developments.
These are Reef Manor, offering one, two and three bedroom beachside apartments in Boscombe Manor, and Shillingstone Fields, offering detached and semi-detached three and four bedroom houses in Okeford Fitzpaine.
