BRIDES can now add the ultimate personal touch to their wedding with help from Hyde Flower Company, where DIY wedding flower workshops are being added to pick your own flower sessions.

The sustainable flower farm near Fordingbridge is running a series of DIY Wedding Flower Workshops throughout the summer designed to both inspire and teach brides-to-be how to create the perfect arrangements for that very special day.

Each workshop covers bridal bouquets, button holes and table arrangements and all equipment and freshly-picked flowers are provided.

Hyde Flower Company can also provide creative brides with buckets of beautiful, seasonal blooms to arrange as required.

Fordingbridge florist Sally Valentine runs the DIY Wedding Flower Workshops and enjoys helping each bride create something special.

“It’s all about that personal touch,” she said. “And you honestly don’t need to be super creative. Once you understand the basic techniques you can play with colours, wispy florals or statement blooms to reflect your own personality and style. That’s the unique benefit of running the workshops right on the flower farm: there is so much choice out in the field, both for the initial workshops and the actual wedding day if brides want to source their flowers locally.”

For less confident brides Sally offers her experience and floral expertise at an hourly rate providing a cost-effective way to access professional help as and when required.

This summer, Hyde Flower Company is also offering bookable PYO Flowers sessions where you can your own blooms as you stroll through the flower field.

Owner Caroline Howells added: ”After what seems to have been an endlessly wet winter, it is wonderful to see the garden bloom again and be able to share its beauty. As the season progresses our signature blooms move from the vibrant spring tulips to summer’s delicately petalled cosmos, scented phlox and a sizzling array of dahlias. I am trialling a few new varieties this year and really looking forward to using them in our bouquets and seeing how they work alongside our more tried and tested favourites.”
