A BOURNEMOUTH town is holding a new and improved summer carnival for residents across Dorset.
A community group dedicated to the regeneration of Boscombe has announced a carnival will take place in August this year.
A spokesperson for Boscombe Regeneration said: “We told you there were exciting things to come, and we weren't lying!
“We're delighted to announce that the first Boscombe Carnival will be coming to our high street this summer.
“Not only will the carnival be a wonderful opportunity for our locals to celebrate (think music, performers, food, and more), but it will bring visitors from surrounding regions, giving our fantastic local businesses the opportunity to promote themselves.
“Block 24th-25th August in your diaries for the carnival, and watch this space for more details.
“We can't wait to celebrate with you all.”
Details of the event are yet to be announced.
In 2014, a summer carnival was held in Boscombe with a marching band, talented performers, and spectators from across BCP on August 10.
The event included a parade from Pokesdown Railway Station that finished at the Boscombe precinct but was previously delayed by three weeks as organisers sought funding for road signs.
The new carnival is set to take place on August 24 and 25.
