HUNDREDS of jobs are to be created at a holiday park as part of a major nationwide investment.
Sandford Holiday Park near Wareham employs almost 300 staff in the peak season, while welcoming nearly 95,000 holidaymakers last year alone.
But following strong bookings for its 2024 season, owner Parkdean Resorts will recruit for staff as part of a £500,000 investment.
The money will also be put towards upgraded accommodation and new facilities at the park ahead of the summer season.
Parkdean Resort’s chief executive Steve Richards said: “We’re always looking to invest in the guest experience at our parks.
“Fifty-nine per cent of our customers rebook with us, and continuing to enhance our parks will help bring people back to Dorset year after year.
“We create rewarding jobs in the community which can turn into life-long careers in hospitality, and our staff engagement score of 83 per cent, which is well above the sector average, shows our teams are happy.
“2024 promises to be another busy year, so there’s no better time to join our brilliant team who do so much to help our guests make lasting memories with their families.”
Jobs available will be spread across the business, from cleaners and bar staff to lifeguards, chefs and security officers.
Parkdean Resorts will recruit 6,000 people for its 66 UK-wide parks, including 750 jobs in Devon and Dorset. The firm has been asked how many are to be recruited in Sandford.
The recruitment drive comes as the company announced an investment of more than £34m in its parks for 2024, including refurbishing more than 1,500 holiday homes, adding new caravans and introducing new food and drinks units.
At Sandford, 45 caravans are being refurbished and four new caravans added to the park to improve accommodation options for holidaymakers.
A brand new Thunderbird Fried Chicken restaurant has also been added.
Parkdean Resorts employs more than 8,000 people across the UK and last year welcomed more than three million holidaymakers to its 66 parks.
The company has also won three gold awards at the British Travel Awards - best company for UK family holidays, best company for UK parks and lodges holidays and best company for UK short breaks.
