A NEW retirement village coming to Wimborne is reportedly experiencing ‘unprecedented demand’.
More than 150 retirees attended the show suite opening event at Wimborne’s brand-new retirement community, The Old Market Village.
At the event, McCarthy Stone welcomed prospective homeowners to learn more about the village, which can be accessed in Grenville Road.
The retirement housebuilder said it has since been inundated with enquiries from local people.
Phase one of The Old Market Village has fully sold out, and since phase two has been released, the properties are quickly being snapped up.
At The Old Market Gardens - one of the two developments that make up The Old Market Village – the two and three-bedroom bungalows have proved incredibly popular, with 40 per cent of these properties being reserved within the first month of sales release.
Verity McKay, divisional marketing manager at McCarthy Stone, said: “We’re over the moon with the volume of interest we’ve received for The Old Market Village since we released properties for off-plan sales.
“We always hoped it would prove to be a popular retirement community, but this certainly exceeded all expectations.”
The Old Market Gardens will cater for the over 65s with 32 stunning retirement bungalows, while the over 70s can choose from a selection of one and two-bedroom apartments at Market House.
Homeowners will have access to the state-of-the-art facilities, including a communal lounge, multi-function room, on-site bistro, landscape gardens, a wellness suite and a hotel-style guest suite.
For those who require extra support, a team will be on-hand day and night to provide personal care packages to suit individual needs.
