A CARE HOME is taking part in a 31-mile walking challenge for charity.
Staff and residents at Parley Place care home in West Parley are taking part in a sponsored walk throughout May to raise money for Dementia UK.
Dementia UK is a specialist dementia charity based in the UK and offers support to the whole family, the provide life-changing support to anyone affected by dementia.
Residents, their relatives and staff are all getting involved with residents taking part with walks round the garden and to the local park.
Staff are taking on a massive 16 mile walk in 1 day and 8 miles on another as well as walks round the garden with the residents.
Gina Smith, general manager of Parley Place Care Home, said: “Taking part in this challenge is going to be a huge amount of fun and everyone at the home has got behind us. It’s for such an important cause.
“We are very glad to be able to do our bit to raise further awareness and money for the charity.”
The JustGiving page is currently on £255 and the care home are hoping to raise more than £400.
