INTERNATIONAL fashion brand, Mango, has announced it will be opening its first Dorset store in Bournemouth.
Both Mango and Castlepoint, in Castle Lane West, confirmed the exciting news after job adverts were spotted online.
The store will takeover the former Burton unit, next to Waterstones, and will sit on the same stretch as Castlepoint’s latest brand, Nike.
David Pickett, centre manager of Castlepoint, said: “We are thrilled that Mango has chosen Castlepoint as its first Dorset location.
“We know our shoppers want to see more big-name Fashion brands and Mango’s offering will perfectly complement the other key names we have at Castlepoint and ensure we continue to provide choice for our shoppers.”
A spokesperson for Mango said: “Mango, one of Europe’s leading fashion groups, continues its international expansion plan in the United Kingdom with its first store in Bournemouth.
“Specifically, in Castlepoint, one of the largest shopping parks in the country.
“The new store, planned for late this year, will have a selling space of 500 m2 and stock products from the woman and kids lines.”
The store will also feature the Mediterranean-inspired store concept, New Med, which showcases the brand’s “spirit and freshness”.
Described as a Mediterranean home, the store will showcase different rooms with warm tones and neutral colours combined with traditional and natural materials such as ceramic, wood and marble.
Mango has been present in the UK since 1999 and at the end of last year had 60 stores in the country.
The company announced its expansion for 2024, with more than 20 store openings planned for the year.
Daniel López, Mango’s director of expansion and franchising previously, said: "The UK is one of the priority markets for Mango's international growth.
“The increased presence in London and our arrival this year in some cities where we have not been present until now will consolidate the Mango brand and help us to strengthen it internationally.”
Mango will join Castlepoint’s wealth of stores including Nike and Hotel Chocolat, which both opened in November 2023.
The retail park has more than 35 stores and 40 brands, from fashion and beauty to books and homeware.
