SEVERAL pets in Dorset are looking for their forever homes, including at the Ashley Heath Animal Centre.

Located on the border with Hampshire, the centre offers care for its animals in rural surroundings.

A few animals from the centre are listed below but more can be found on the centre's website.

Pierre

Breed - Lurcher crossbreed

Colour - Brindle

Pierre is a dog described as having a "real zest for life" and is looking to join an active family.

He came into the care of the RSPCA due to welfare concerns and it became clear he had lacked socialisation with other dogs and people.

Pierre has been on a training plan since then which has improved his behaviour significantly.

The RSPCA adds: "While his training journey continues, prospective adopters should be ready to guide him through behavioural challenges, confident that his vibrant personality will ultimately shine through, enriching their lives for years to come."

Mickey

Age - Nine years old

Breed - Domestic semi crossbreed

Colour - Black and White

Mickey came into the care of the RSPCA due to his owner passing away, and he is now looking for his forever home.

Mickey came in overweight, has lost a small amount and will need to continue to lose weight in his new home.

Mickey could live with another cat, given time and space, and any children in the home would need to be over the age of 13.

Mini

Mini came into the care of the RSPCA after his owner sadly passed away and is now looking for a forever home.

Upon first arriving at the centre he was quite scared but he has warmed up a bit over time and likes to receive a bit of fuss and attention.

He has lived with another cat so could possibly live with one again, given time and space to get to know each other.

Honey

Colour - Ginger and White

Honey arrived at the RSPCA after being found living in unsuitable conditions with lots of other cats.

She hasn't had much human interaction as a result but staff have been working with her to make her more comfortable and get used to playing with toys.

The RSPCA adds: "She is not ready to be a lap cat but if you have the time and patience for little Honey to help her adjust to life and to support her slowly get used to human interaction, you will find this very rewarding".

Honey would be best suited going to an adult-only home, and could potentially live with another friendly cat.

Nero

Breed - Crossbreed/unknown

Colour - Black and Tan

Nero came into the care of the RSPCA after being removed from a large multi-dog household.

It is unlikely he has had much experience of a life outside the one home and garden.

He is looking to find a new home with adopters who are patient and understanding as he needs to adjust to being in a regular home environment.

The RSPCA adds: "Due to the unknown contact with children in their previous home, we are looking for a home where any children are dog confident older teens."

Trevor

Trevor is described as a "sweet" rabbit who is "hoping to find his new forever home with a female rabbit for company".

He has been shown to appreciate his freedom in running around the garden and house, so would not suit living in a hutch all the time.

Trevor has previously lived as an indoor rabbit.
